A recent love project. Auf’m Sofa, a German-language SoMe video campaign, is part of MMM’s mission to change the mainstream narrative on migration with fierce FLINTA* storytelling. We built a three week campaign using the edits from the shoot and got 200 new followers, tens of thousands of views, and new collabs.

My Migrant Mama
Having Reka on board for our AufmSofa campaign at much cooler than yours was nothing short of transformative. She’s a listener, a translator of vision into story, and a wordsmith with a great sense for puns that make you feel and think. Reka brings a magic mix of emotional intelligence, political awareness, and soul to her verbal strategy—she crafts narratives that build trust, stir hearts, and move communities. After two years of learning the ropes in Berlin (and German language) I felt ready to volunteer support and learn from some of the phenomenal local teams in the social justice sector.
It was a massive stroke of luck that the CoolCollective's social cause callout was answered by My Migrant Mama. We connected instantly and set to work bringing Auf'm Sofa to the people.
Not all that glitters is gold
This project connected me both with an incredible community of FLINTA* migrants and migrant kids and with my own intergenerational treasure as a first-gen, mixed race 'migrant kid'.
Writing about what we inherit through moving and reinventing ourselves taught me so much. Especially that FLINTA* migrants are at the forefront of so much work we take for granted!
